Areas of Expertise
- Preventive Healthcare — Routine exams, immunizations, screenings, and risk assessments designed to prevent disease or detect conditions early.
- Chronic Disease Management — Evidence-based treatment of long-term conditions through medication management, lifestyle counseling, and ongoing monitoring.
- Hypertension — Elevated blood pressure that over time can cause the heart to work overtime and pump harder, possibly leading to heart attack, stroke, heart failure or kidney failure.
- Family Medicine — A branch of medicine delivering primary care to patients of any age, providing preventive care and treatment of a wide range of nonemergency diseases and conditions.
- Diabetes — A chronic condition characterized by abnormally high levels of glucose, or sugar, in the blood that affects how the body turns food into energy and can cause damage to the heart, nerves, kidneys or eyes.

Background
While initially pursuing a career in engineering, Dr. Floyd spent a summer working in his local emergency room. It immediately shifted his passion, and he traded engineering for medicine. The rest fell into place, he said.
Dr. Floyd’s experience in the medical field has included emergency medicine, inpatient care and ICU management. As an outpatient physician, his wide-ranging background allows him to treat both acute and chronic illnesses, such as hypertension and diabetes.
The Floyds are a very active family, and Dr. Floyd, his wife Charlotte and their four children enjoy hunting, fishing and motorcycling.
