About Dr. Carl Derrick

With over 30 years of experience in internal medicine, Dr. Carl Derrick provides patients of all ages with primary care services at Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group, specializing in cardiovascular and endocrine medicine, preventive care and the management of acute and chronic conditions.

Background
Inspired by his father, a physician, Dr. Derrick pursued medicine and a lifelong commitment to patient care. He has served as a staff physician at Bayview Nursing Center in Beaufort, medical director at Driftwood Nursing Center and physician with Lowcountry Medical Associates in Charleston. He is currently assistant medical director at Mirasol Health.
Dr. Derrick also has served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Beaufort Memorial and as a clinical instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is currently medical director of Homestead Hospice in Beaufort and Sprenger Health Care in Port Royal.
Dr. Derrick and his wife Melissa have four children. He loves spending time with his family and also enjoys fishing and playing golf.
