Dr. Joseph M. DiMaria provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages at Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group Primary Care. Board-certified in family medicine, he emphasizes preventive care, lifestyle-focused treatment strategies, women’s health services, minor in-office procedures, and evidence-based management of chronic conditions through a patient-centered, whole-person approach.

Background

Dr. DiMaria began his healthcare career as a pharmacist before pursuing medicine to develop deeper, more meaningful relationships with patients. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his residency in family medicine at Overlook Hospital, part of Atlantic Health System in Summit, N.J.

He has held clinical and leadership roles across New York, most recently serving as a physician and medical director with TeamHealth Post-Acute Care. He also served as Chief Medical Officer at Upstate Family Health Center and academic and clinical faculty roles at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, N.Y.

Dr. DiMaria lives in Beaufort with his husband Jeremy, his daughter Bella, and their dog Max. He enjoys art, history, cooking, and staying active with his family.
