Board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Rebecca A. Keith brings patient-first, comprehensive care to women of all ages at Beaufort Memorial Obstetrics & Gynecology in Beaufort and Okatie. With a particular passion for high-risk obstetrics, Dr. Keith aims to create a comfortable, respectful and open atmosphere for all patients in every stage of womanhood.

Areas of Expertise

• High-Risk Obstetrics — Providing pre- and post-natal care for women with greater risk for complications during pregnancy, such as those with advanced maternal age, mental illness, elevated blood pressure, multiples, obesity and diabetes.
• First time Pelvic Exams — Conducting a young woman’s pelvic exam – a physical examination of the vagina, cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries and uterus – for the first time, ensuring a comfortable experience.
• Obstetrics — The care of women during pregnancy and childbirth.
• Postpartum Depression — A disorder including mood swings, anxiety, extreme sadness or fatigue following childbirth and up to 1 year following childbirth.
• Preconception Counseling — Health education, risk assessment and planning prior to a patient’s pregnancy journey.

Background

Dr. Keith chose a career in medicine at a young age, setting her sights on medical school during her preteen years. She completed her medical education and postgraduate training in Indiana, earning her degree from Indiana University and completing her residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Although Dr. Keith’s early career began in the Lowcountry serving Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and Hardeeville, the majority of her career was spent in Greenville. With more than three decades of experience, she has provided compassionate, patient-centered care, delivered more than 5,000 babies and has built lasting relationships with families across the country.

Dr. Keith enjoys spending time with her two grown children, Ryan and Rachel, traveling and spending time outdoors, whether hiking, canoeing or horseback riding.
