Background
Nates was drawn to nursing because of its impactful role in patient care, education and advocacy. After earning her master’s in nursing at the University of South Carolina (USC), she began her career in the ER, where caring for a patient experiencing an obstetric emergency helped her recognize her passion for women’s health.
She transitioned to labor and delivery, and since then, she has cared for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings in South Carolina and Georgia. She has also served as a clinical instructor and most recently provided prenatal, postpartum and gynecological care at Rural Health Services in Aiken.
Nates and her husband, Jordan, have two children and enjoy movies, outdoor activities, baking, reading and listening to podcasts.
