Dr. Flint Walker, a board-certified and fellowship-trained family medicine physician with Beaufort Memorial Concierge Care, is dedicated to building honest, thoughtful and strong relationships with his patients. He specializes in preventive care and the management of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, serving as a partner in care to patients at the practice.

Areas of Expertise

• Preventive Care — Check-ups, immunizations, tests and screenings used to prevent serious diseases and medical conditions or to detect them before they become major problems.
• Cardiovascular Disease — Disorders of the heart and blood vessels, among them heart attack, stroke, congestive heart failure (CHF) and heart arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat.
• Hypertension — Elevated blood pressure that over time can cause the heart to work overtime and pump harder, possibly leading to heart attack, stroke, heart failure or kidney failure.
• Diabetes Management — Helping patients with diabetes—a chronic condition characterized by abnormally high levels of glucose, or sugar, in the blood that affects how the body turns food into energy and can cause damage to the heart, nerves, kidneys or eyes—manage their disease and remain healthy.
• Adult Primary Care — A relationship with a single care provider who takes an active role in maintaining a patient’s optimal health by conducting regular physicals and screenings, providing routine preventive care and managing chronic disease.

Background

Dr. Walker grew up around medicine through his mother’s work at a family practice in his Arkansas hometown. Initially drawn to physical therapy, he chose medicine to make a deeper impact on patients’ lives.

He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and completed an Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Academic Fellowship at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Mo., before practicing family medicine in Virginia and Maryland. In 2023, he joined Mayes Internal Medicine on Hilton Head Island.

As part of Beaufort Memorial, he delivers in-depth, patient-focused care through a concierge model, expanding primary care options to Lowcountry residents.

Dr. Walker and his family are active in their Bluffton church community. He and his wife have four children, and his life revolves around both fatherhood and his faith.
