About Dr. Jonathan Briggs
"My goal when treating my patients is to educate them to the best of my ability while providing compassionate, state-of-the-art care. I believe in treating the whole patient with respect and kindness."
Well known by patients and colleagues alike for his warmth, kindness and empathetic care, Dr. Jonathan Briggs, a board-certified radiation oncologist, has a particular interest in the treatment of breast, lung, prostate and skin cancers and in cancer research as well.
His research projects have ranged in focus from T-cell lymphoma of the breast to the use of alternative and complementary medicine during radiation.
Background
Dr. Briggs came to the Lowcountry from Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J., where he served as director of the Department of Radiation Oncology for 14 years. Earlier, he was in practice at Virginia Radiation Oncology Associates in Richmond, VA.
He and his wife, Michele, have three sons and a daughter. He enjoys swimmng, volunteering at charity events and following the fortunes of the New York Mets with his boys. He spends lots of time outdoors with his family, and a favorite pastime is teaching his children to fish and boat.
