- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) — A condition in which the contents of the stomach move up into the esophagus, causing heartburn, indigestion and other symptoms.
- Chronic Constipation – Experiencing the symptoms of constipation for three months or longer.
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) — A disorder that causes issues in your large intestine, including abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and gas.
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease — Chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract that can cause blood in the stools, stomach pain and weight loss. Two primary types of IBD are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
- Hepatitis — The inflammation of the liver, caused by either an acute or chronic infection.

Background
Mrs. Thorpe’s passion and interest in the medical field was sparked in her high school Anatomy and Physiology class. She began her career in Emergency Medicine, and after 19 years transitioned to gastroenterology, which she thoroughly enjoys.
Mrs. Thorpe and her husband Mike have two sons and a grandson. The family enjoys spending time together as much as possible and being active, being on the water and competing in a variety of activities.
