Deanna Mansker, M.D., FACS, CWSP

Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Deanna Mansker came to Beaufort Memorial Surgical Specialists from medical residency in 2011. She specializes in a wide range of surgeries, including those to address conditions of the breast, gallblader, GI tract and skin. Additionally, she is an expert in complex wound care.

Among her professional interests are robotic surgery, treatment of breast diseases and oncoplastic breast surgery, hernia repair and malignancy and diseases of the GI tract.

Areas of Expertise

• General Surgery — A branch of surgery that treats the abdomen, breast, head and neck, blood vessels and digestive tract.
• Robotic Surgery — A type of minimally invasive surgery that uses robotic arms controlled by a surgeon to insert tiny surgical instruments into a patient’s body, permitting maximum precision and range of motion.
• Hernia Repair — A surgical operation to correct a hernia, which is a protruding of internal organs or tissues through the wall that contains them. Hernias are described by where they occur; common types are inguinal, femoral, umbilical, incisional, epigastric and hiatal.
• Oncoplastic Breast Surgery — Breast cancer surgery that combines tumor removal with immediate reconstruction for an optimal cosmetic outcome.
• Wound Care — Specialized care for complex and nonhealing wounds; includes diagnosis of wound type, assessment of factors that interfere with healing and appropriate treatment.

Background

Known for her calm and gentle bedside manner as well as her surgical expertise, Dr. Mansker sees patients in the Beaufort and Okatie offices of the Surgical Specialists practice and also for consultation and treatment at Beaufort Memorial Breast Health Center and Beaufort Memorial Wound Care Center in Beaufort.

High school sweethearts, Dr. Mansker and her husband, Phillip, have a son and two daughters. She enjoys reading, music and outdoor activities such as boating, fishing and camping with her family.
