About Dr. Carl Derrick

A board-certified specialist in internal medicine, Dr. Carl Derrick brings more than two decades experience to Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group, with professional interests in cardiovascular and endocrine medicine.
Background
Prior to joining the practice, he was a staff physician at Bayview Nursing Center in Beaufort as well as the medical director at Driftwood Nursing Center and in practice at Lowcountry Medical Associates in Charleston.
He has served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and as a clinical instructor of medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He is currently the medical director of both Homestead Hospice in Beaufort and Sprenger Nursing Center in Port Royaluitt Health.
Dr. Derrick and his wife, Melissa, who owns a ballet studio, have four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and golf.
