Beaufort Memorial News in July Welcomed New Specialists, Affordable Housing Milestones

Beaufort Memorial news hits around the Lowcountry in July reflected an influx of new specialists joining the organization, and the sweltering month also saw hot headlines about affordable housing in Bluffton, back-to-school tips and summertime health information from members of our medical staff.
Welcoming new providers
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Cory Messerschmidt and nurse practitioner Nicole Gray continued their introduction in the Lowcountry this month, as seen in Bluffton Today (Beaufort Memorial welcomes new orthopedic surgeon, heart specialist nurse practitioner) and Becker’s Spine Review (South Carolina hospital adds orthopedic surgeon).
Another new face to the Orthopaedic Specialists practice, nurse practitioner Aron Love, was announced to the community in publications across the county.

Big steps toward Bluffton workforce housing
In the middle of July, the Bluffton Town Council voted to move the Livewell Terrace by BMH affordable workforce housing project forward. The second reading and approval of the project will occur in mid-August.

Preparing emotionally for back-to-school
Ashton Viterbo, Business Development and Employer Relations Manager, who oversees Beaufort Memorial community and corporate health programs, offered a few emotional wellness tips for a WJCL back-to-school report.
