About Dr. Stephen Larson

An expert in emergency medicine, Stephen F. Larson, M.D., quickly evaluates, diagnoses and treats a wide range of critical illnesses and traumatic injuries in adult and pediatric patients. Dr. leads the care team in resuscitating patients and, when necessary, stabilizing the patient’s condition for transport to a Level I trauma center.

Background

Before joining Beaufort Memorial in 2003, Dr. Larson served as medical director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at SSM DePaul Health Center in St. Louis. For more than a decade prior to that, Dr. Larson practiced emergency medicine at Alta Bates Medical Center, in Berkeley, Calif.

In addition to his extensive experience in emergency medicine, Dr. Larson served on the Beaufort Memorial Board of Trustees and the hospital’s strategic planning committee.
