About Dr. Matthew Fults

"I enjoy providing evidence-based medical care to my patients and supporting their family throughout the duration of their hospitalization."

Dr. Matthew Fults is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He cares for children and newborns during their hospital stay.

Dr. Fults only sees patients for the length of their hospital stay and determines when the patient is ready to leave. Upon discharge, hospital staff assist with the transition of care from the hospitalist to the patient’s primary care provider, specialists and/or other services if they are needed.

Background

Dr. Fults brings nearly a decade of pediatric experience to Beaufort Memorial, including inpatient and outpatient care, pediatric department leadership and military medicine. He previously served as chief of pediatrics at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and has provided pediatric hospitalist care at hospitals in Maryland and Virginia.

Dr. Fults and his wife have three sons. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, participating in Scouts with his sons, cheering them on at lacrosse games and traveling with his family.
