12 Graduate from PATH Program, Strengthening Local Healthcare Workforce
May 5, 2026Categories: News
Beaufort Memorial recognized 12 graduates of the PATH (“People Achieving Their Highest”) workforce development program on April 22 in Port Royal, as well as nine employees who recently earned national healthcare certifications.
Now in its 12th cohort, the PATH program continues to strengthen the local healthcare workforce by providing the opportunity for Beaufort Memorial employees to transition into in-demand clinical and support roles.
Participants receive scholarships, training and career guidance as they advance within the program and the organization.
Developed in response to healthcare staffing shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program reflects the commitment at Beaufort Memorial to growing talent from within and expanding access to care in the Lowcountry.
“We thought, ‘How do we build a workforce that responds to this growing need in healthcare?’” said Beaufort Memorial President and CEO Russell Baxley. “What better way for us to serve our community – not only serving our patients, but by giving our employees an opportunity to grow in their ability to improve the lives of those patients.”

Seven Beaufort Memorial employees signed up to be a part of Cohort 13 of the program during the ceremony, in internal tracts that include CMA, PCT, surgical and endoscopy technicians.
“Don’t let it stop here,” Baxley said. “The PATH program doesn’t tell you when to stop; whenever you want to get on or off, it’s your choice. It’s our job to make it easy for you by providing the support and resources you need to grow where your feet are planted.”
