Beaufort Memorial, in partnership with the Beaufort Memorial Foundation, offers Rock Steady Boxing, a nationally recognized, evidence-based fitness program designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
Launched at Beaufort Memorial LifeFit Wellness Center in January 2026, Rock Steady Boxing uses non-contact, boxing-inspired exercises and moderate-to-high intensity training to help participants manage their symptoms, improve mobility and maintain their independence.

What is Rock Steady Boxing?
Founded in 2006, Rock Steady Boxing is a specialized fitness program proven to help people with Parkinson’s combat the progression of the neurodegenerative disease.
It was designed specifically for those with Parkinson’s disease as well as those with Atypical PD (Multisystem Atrophy, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, and Corticobasilar Degeneration).
Classes focus on:
- Balance and stability
- Strength and muscle control
- Coordination and agility
- Flexibility and mobility
- Confidence and quality of life
This program is appropriate for all stages of Parkinson’s, from early diagnosis to more advanced progression.
