At Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group Primary Care, Dr. Taylor Addison provides comprehensive primary care services for adolescent and adult patients. Board-certified in family medicine, he specializes in preventive care, whole-person wellness and developing trust-based, communication-focused partnerships with his patients while helping them navigate both acute and chronic conditions.

• Chronic Disease Management — Evidence-based treatment of long-term conditions through medication management, lifestyle counseling, and ongoing monitoring.
• Preventive Healthcare — Routine exams, immunizations, screenings, and risk assessments designed to prevent disease or detect conditions early.
• Diabetes — A chronic condition characterized by abnormally high levels of glucose, or sugar, in the blood that affects how the body turns food into energy and can cause damage to the heart, nerves, kidneys or eyes.
• Cardiovascular Disease — Disorders of the heart and blood vessels, among them heart artery disease, congestive heart failure (CHF), heart valve disease and heart arrhythmia.
• Minor Skin Procedures — In-office removal of benign skin lesions such as small moles and skin tags to relieve discomfort and support patient confidence.

Dr. Addison offers virtual visits for patients needing medication checks, standard chronic illness management, sick visits and follow-up care for certain conditions. If interested, ask about the option when scheduling.

Background

Dr. Addison discovered his calling to medicine during a medical mission trip to Uganda before his senior year at The Citadel. Inspired by the impact primary care physicians can have on their communities, he shifted his career focus from business to healthcare. He then earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.

He went on to serve as Chief Resident at UAB Medicine Huntsville during his residency, where he further developed his commitment to personalized patient care and has brought that passion for communication and trust-based connection to the Lowcountry.

Dr. Addison is an avid traveler and Clemson football fan. He and his wife Maiben and their daughter Susan enjoy boating, cooking and exploring their Lowcountry home.
