Choosing Medicare supplement or Medicare replacement plans

We know it can be difficult to make a decision on a Medicare supplement or a Medicare replacement plan. Although we appreciate you asking our guidance on your selection, Beaufort Memorial Hospital cannot direct you in your choice.  However, we can share some helpful information that may make your selecting easier.

The above website displays BMH insurance plan affiliations.  It changes periodically so make sure you check back, occasionally.

At this point the hospital is accepting several Medicare Advantage plans that are not listed as contracted payers. These plans do not need a contract with us until Jan 2011.  We are negotiating contracts with some Medicare Advantage plans in preparation for next year.  Beaufort Memorial Hospital will post the selected plans as we finalize contracts.

While making a decision you should be sure to understand whether the plan you are considering is a Medicare supplement or a Medicare replacement plan.  Find out what providers are participating in the plans you are studying.  Consider while comparing plans your obligations as far as co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles.  Additional evaluation points are added benefits like dental, vision or hearing.
