Christine Markowitz Named Chief Financial Officer at Beaufort Memorial

Beaufort Memorial has named Christine Markowitz as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Markowitz joins Beaufort Memorial bringing over three decades of finance leadership. The experienced financial executive will be instrumental in supporting the health system’s mission to provide enhanced quality of life in the Lowcountry through improved health, innovative partnerships and superior care.
“Christine will be a vital part of Beaufort Memorial as we continue to expand access to high-quality care throughout the Lowcountry,” said Beaufort Memorial President and CEO Russell Baxley. “Her decades of leadership and experience as a healthcare financial executive, as well as her commitment to Beaufort Memorial’s mission, make her a valuable addition to the organization.”
Most recently, Markowitz was the Market CFO for two Sovah Health campuses in Virginia, located in Danville and Martinsville. With a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia, she has also spent over a decade holding progressive leadership roles as CFO of multiple hospitals.
In her role at Beaufort Memorial, Markowitz will manage the organization’s financial health by leading strategic financial planning and operational efficiency, implementing financial policies and collaborating with Beaufort Memorial leadership as well as external stakeholders to align financial strategy with the organization’s goals.
It is a critical time for healthcare systems, Markowitz said, especially in this ever-evolving, fast-growing region.
