Beaufort Memorial Welcomes New Chief People Officer

Beaufort Memorial, one of the county’s largest employers, is taking huge strides in developing employee experience at the organization with the addition of Tina Jackson, the nonprofit hospital system’s new Chief People Officer.

In this role, Jackson will oversee and manage operations impacting Beaufort Memorial employee experience and overall company culture, as well as initiatives for workforce development, recruitment, retention, leadership development and employee engagement.

“The experience that we create for Beaufort Memorial employees has become more important than ever,” said Beaufort Memorial President and CEO Russell Baxley. “We are excited to welcome Mrs. Jackson as a human resources and employee experience leader. She cares deeply about creating a great place to work, helping staff grow and putting people first.”

The role of Chief People Officer is an external one as well; Jackson will lead collaborations in the community with groups such as local schools, colleges and other non-profit and civic organizations. As the health system continues to expand throughout the Lowcountry, Jackson will lead recruitment and employee engagement initiatives, workforce relations and training at Beaufort Memorial.

Jackson, a West Virginia native, has been a leader in human resources in healthcare settings for much of her career. She said she is passionate about aligning Beaufort Memorial’s employee experience with the heart of patient care.
