Beaufort Memorial and Accresa Health have launched a strategic partnership to expand access to affordable primary care across the Lowcountry.

The collaboration strengthens the Beaufort Memorial Direct Primary Care (DPC) program through advanced healthcare technology, employer benefit integration and direct-to-consumer enrollment options.

The initiative is designed to make relationship-based, transparent primary care more accessible to employers, working families and individuals, including those without traditional, employer-sponsored health insurance.

Expanding Direct Primary Care

Direct Primary Care (DPC) through Beaufort Memorial is a healthcare model built around a flat, predicable monthly membership fee that covers routine and preventive services.

Through the Beaufort Memorial DPC program, members receive:

  • Annual wellness visits and preventive screenings
  • Chronic disease management
  • Acute care services
  • Direct access to a primary care provider
  • Simplified billing with no traditional insurance claims for covered services

While traditional health insurance remains important for specialty and catastrophic care, DPC offers an affordable foundation for everyday healthcare needs.

By expanding its DPC model, Beaufort Memorial aims to improve healthcare affordability, increase access to primary care providers and reduce administrative complexity for both patients and employers.

How Accresa Health Supports Affordable Care

Accresa Health specializes in payment and benefit administration solutions for employers and healthcare provider networks. Its technology platform will serve as the infrastructure supporting the expanded DPC program at Beaufort Memorial.

The platform enables:

  • Secure employer group administration
  • Employee eligibility management
  • Monthly contribution tracking
  • Centralized billing and payment reporting
  • Flexible product and pricing configurations

This infrastructure reduces administrative burden while improving adaptability, allowing Beaufort Memorial to reach more businesses and individuals throughout the region.

“By expanding our DPC program beyond traditional employer groups, we are opening the door to affordable, accessible primary care for individuals and families across the Lowcountry,” said Beaufort Memorial President and CEO Russell Baxley.

Direct-to-Consumer Enrollment and HSA/FSA Flexibility

A key feature of the expansion is direct-to-consumer enrollment. Individuals can now enroll independently in the DPC program and use Health Savings Account (HAS) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds to pay for their memberships.

This flexibility:

  • Increases affordability
  • Supports uninsured/underinsured residents
  • Empowers consumers to manage healthcare spending directly
  • Expands access beyond employer-sponsored plans

As healthcare benefits evolve and consumer-driven models gain traction, this partnership positions Beaufort Memorial as a regional leader in innovative, community-centered care delivery.

Strengthening Community-Based Healthcare

This collaboration between Accresa Health and Beaufort Memorial reflects a broader shift toward value-based, patient-centered care models that emphasize preventive care, cost transparency and strong relationships between healthcare providers and their patients.

By combining advanced healthcare payment technology with a strategically growing community health system, this partnership creates a framework for delivering:

  • Affordable primary care
  • Employer-friendly healthcare solutions
  • Transparent pricing
  • Improved patient access and engagement
