BLUFFTON, SC – If you have questions about maintaining your mental fitness, join Beaufort Memorial and board-certified neurologist Dr. Paul Mazzeo for “Staying Sharp: Your Brain and You” on Wednesday, June 5, at 5 p.m., in Sun City’s Magnolia Hall Auditorium.
When it comes to healthy aging, mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness, and so is the early recognition of mental decline. At this free seminar guests will learn:
• What’s normal when it comes to age-related memory loss
• When you should be concerned about lapses in memory
• What can be done to prevent mental loss
Dr. Mazzeo will discuss signs and causes of memory loss and how to slow the decline through diet, physical activity, and techniques to stimulate the senses, exercise your memory and strengthen brain functions. He will be joined by Memory Center staff members who will be available to answer questions.
A brief reception will be held at 4:30 p.m., and will feature a Mediterranean-inspired menu. The seminar is open to both residents and non-residents of Sun City. The event is free but registration is required by calling (843) 522-5585 or toll-free (888) 522-5585.
