Mammography

Our Breast Health Center provides digital mammograms with advanced breast tomosynthesis, or 3-D mammography in a comfortable setting with full accreditation from the American College of Radiology and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Radiologists are on-site so you can get your results the same day as your mammogram.

Getting Your Mammogram

After you check in, you’ll be shown to a changing room where you'll find a privacy cape to drape over your shoulders. Our equipment has MammoPads to provide a more comfortable mammogram experience. After your mammogram, you can get dressed and return to the waiting room while a radiologist examines your images.

If your mammogram is normal and no additional follow-up is required, you’ll receive a reminder of when to schedule your next mammogram. We’ll provide your OB-GYN with your results, too. If an abnormality is seen on your mammogram or ultrasound during your appointment, an imaging navigator will talk with you about your results and assist in scheduling any necessary appointments. Your referring physician will also be notified.

The Breast Health Center’s breast nurse navigator is available to guide you through the process and answer your questions, both at the time of service and later.

New Patients

If you’re a patient new to the Breast Health Center, we require that you obtain your films/records from your previous mammography provider and that you bring them with you to your appointment. Previous films/records are essential to an accurate interpretation of your mammogram and allow us to provide same-day results. Please complete this form, send it to your provider and have your films/records mailed directly to you, not to the Breast Health Center.

Release of Medical Records

Before we can release your records we’ll need your authorization. Please contact our Medical Records office at 843-522-5993 so we can assist you.
