Hug Your Baby
HUG helps parents discover the amazing talents of the newborn and how to read your baby’s body language to promote effective breast-feeding, sleeping, comforting and attachment. This information is most valuable during the first weeks with your new baby. You are invited to attend this class before your baby is born or soon after—and you can bring baby to class! Click here for a class schedule.
How will you feed your baby? Beginning your breast-feeding experience well and learning how your body works with your growing baby and what to expect in the first weeks and months will take much of the guess-work and anxiety out of this important choice. Click here for more information.
Beaufort Memorial provides a board-certified lactation consultant and a team of lactation-educated nurses to coach and assist you as needed during breast-feeding. Once you’re home, they remain available to answer questions via the 24/7 warm line at 843-441-4586.
You can learn a lot about labor and birth online. For information that will most closely reflect our Birthing Center procedures, we recommend visiting this free website: http://pregnancy.about.com/od/childbirtheduc/a/cbeclass.htm.
