Biography

Joining the newly renamed Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group as a gynecologist in 2000, Dr. Eve Ashby is dedicated to the comprehensive care of her patients at all stages of life.

Her professional interests include family planning, adolescent care, menopause and bioidentical hormones. Because the field of hormone replacement therapy has been controversial, with varying recommendations often leading to confusion and indecision, Dr. Ashby has a special interest in helping her patients determine a course of action right for them.

She is a former medical director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford, N.J.

Dr. Ashby currently serves as regional director of medical education at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where she enjoys teaching medical students during their clinical rotations and working with the migrant health program. She is the regional director of medical education for Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services.

She and her husband, gastroenterologist Dr. Richard Stewart, have two daughters.

Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group is a 16-provider multispecialty practice that provides a full range of general outpatient medical care, from diagnosis and treatment to case management and total coordination of care across the life spectrum. The practice includes a family practice physician, three internists, specialists in cardiology, gynecology, gastroenterology, medical oncology, neurology and orthopedics, two nurse practitioners and two physician assistants.  Imaging and laboratory services are available on site.

Dr. Ashby is currently scheduling patients for appointments. Her office accepts most medical health insurance plans, including commercial insurance, Medicare and Tricare.

“I believe in treating the ‘whole woman’ from fertility to menopause. Through my practice, I hope to educate all women about the choices they make about their bodies so that they will feel empowered, confident and healthy.” —Eve Ashby, D.O.
