The daVinci Surgical system at BMH provides surgeons with an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy.
By using robotic-assisted technology, the surgeon can perform surgery through small, dime-sized incisions with unmatched precision.

Initially used for urologic surgery, daVinci is now being used for gynecologic surgery, as well as many other types of surgery.
The main applications in gynecology are in reproductive surgery, including hysterectomies, uterine fibroids, and female cancers.

The daVinci technology assists surgeons in performing complex procedures through a series of 1 – 2 centimeter incisions. Physicians using it benefit from a greater range of motion and increased precision and flexibility.
Initially used for prostate surgery, daVinci
is quickly becoming the preferred method for hysterectomies,
ovarian cyst removal, and other gynecologic procedures. Other
BMH doctors are also being trained to use the daVinci system.
