BMH supports Hope Haven through Lilies on the River

Hope Haven is the Lowcountry’s only nonprofit organization that sustains vital services for victims of rape and sexual abuse. Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) made a $1,000 donation to Hope Haven’s “Lilies on the River,” which celebrates women.

BMH works with Hope Haven to provide necessary care to rape and sexual abuse victims. Six BMH employees completed the didactic portion of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification (SANE). A SANE certified nurse is a registered nurse with specialized training to work with victims of sexual assault. The SANE performs a rape exam and can testify in court as an expert. SANE employees are available on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for all suspected sexual assault cases.
