Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation Announces Valentine Ball 2015 Chairmen
In preparation for the 26th Annual Valentine Ball to be held on February 7th, 2015,
the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce this
year’s co-chairs: Dr. and Mrs. D.J. Christian (Ryan) and Dr. and Mrs. Andy
D.J. Christian is an Otolaryngologist (Ears, Nose, and
Throat Specialist) with Beaufort ENT and Allergy where Ryan works as the office
manager. The Christians have been
heavily involved in supporting their children’s school, church and community in
a dizzying array of endeavors. They have
been attending the Ball ever since they moved to Beaufort in 2003, and Ryan has
previously chaired the Ball’s Silent Auction Committee.
Laura Beall is the newest member of the Beaufort Memorial
Hospital (BMH) Foundation’s Board of Trustees. She and Andy have attended the
Ball each year since they moved to Bluffton to be closer to family in
2010. Andy is a leadership consultant
promoting the success of local companies and non-profit organizations, and
Laura is a sales consultant for Etcetera Clothing. Like the Christians, the Bealls are involved
in many wonderful local organizations and count themselves fortunate to be
involved in supporting BMH, an organization they feel is vital to the
well-being of the area.
Over 500 people are expected to attend this year’s black
tie fundraising event, and each guest will be invited to attend one of the many
pre-ball dinner parties held some of Beaufort’s most beautiful homes. Both the
Christians and the Bealls have previously hosted dinner parties, and they love
how the dinners bring together the most interesting people of all ages, people
they might not have known otherwise but can now count among their dearest
After dinner, guests will progress to the Ball for an
evening of dancing, silent auctions, and tiers of elaborate deserts. This year’s event will again be conveniently
located across from the Hospital.
Since its inception in 1990, the Valentine Ball
has raised nearly $4.2 million, allowing our not-for-profit hospital to
offer new and improved services.
Proceeds from the 2015 event will help finance the renovation and
much-needed expansion of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the second floor of
the hospital. The new unit will be able
to accommodate 50% more patients, equipped with state-of-the-art cardiac and
invasive monitors, lift equipment, and special ICU beds. It will also include thoughtfully designed
family consultation and waiting rooms.
Tickets to the Valentine Ball start at $150 per person (including the pre-ball
dinner party) and include several levels of contributions. For more information
or to purchase tickets, call (843) 522-5774 or visit www.valentineball.org.
